Two members of the Knighton Countryside Management team have received Chief Fire Officer’s Commendations from Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service in recognition of their actions during a serious road traffic collision earlier this year.

Jason Giladjian and Connor Snowdon attended the Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service Awards Ceremony in Salisbury on Saturday 12 September, where they received their Certificates of Commendation.

They were recognised alongside Tom Reid from the Forestry Commission for their actions following a road traffic collision on 18 February 2026.

The Chief Fire Officer’s Commendation formally recognises the three men for their “brave and courageous actions” during the incident.

For everyone at Knighton Countryside Management, the recognition is a source of enormous pride, while remaining mindful of the difficult circumstances which led to the commendation.

Faced with an incredibly serious situation, Jason, Connor and Tom stepped forward and did what they could to help. Their actions on that day have now been formally recognised by Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service.

Mark Gibbens, Managing Director of Knighton Countryside Management, said:

“This is not the kind of recognition that anyone sets out to receive, because behind it was an incredibly difficult and distressing situation. First and foremost, our thoughts remain with everyone affected by what happened that day.

“But I am immensely proud of Jason and Connor, and of Tom, for the way they responded when they found themselves faced with such a serious situation. They stepped forward when help was needed, and showed tremendous courage, compassion and presence of mind.

“At Knighton, we often talk about the quality of the people behind our business, but moments like this say far more than we ever could. Character is about what you do when you are faced with something you could never have prepared for. Jason, Connor and Tom did everything they could to help, and this commendation is thoroughly deserved.

“Everyone across Knighton Countryside Management is incredibly proud of them.”

The annual Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service Awards Ceremony recognises long service and good conduct as well as achievements and actions which have made a real difference to the communities the Service supports.

Jason, Connor and Tom were among those presented with Chief Fire Officer’s Commendations at this year’s ceremony.

Knighton Countryside Management would like to congratulate all three men on their recognition and extend its respect and thanks to the emergency services and everyone involved in responding to the incident.
